MISSION & HISTORY.
The River Center was founded in 2010 out of a desire to see members of the community work together for the good of the community. We are a community-focused, grassroots, 501c3 that focuses on how best to serve our community with compassion. We are located in New Castle but serve both the New Castle and Silt communities. Our mission statement “To identify and address unmet community needs with compassionate volunteerism” is lived out through our outreach teams as a way to encourage the creation of a unified, dynamic, and caring community.
Our outreach teams serve the community in a wide variety of areas including:

A weekly senior luncheon and activities

Angel Tree Christmas gifts for children

Community enrichment classes such as finance, parenting, and nutrition

Emergency assistance for rent, utilities, food, clothing, vehicle repair, medical costs.

School supplies

Totes of Hope youth food program

Two community gardens

Meal Monkey weekly lunches for kids 18 and younger
